Beats me. I updated my Win10 PCs to 8.02 and now they both can communicate. None of the Linux PCs can even with some of them on 8.x.
I tried using boinccmd vs BOINCTasks to add it to a Linux PC and cannot communicate that way either.

Denis@Home get_project_config is different from other @home projects.
For example the <platforms> field is empty.

Are you sure the root cause is Cloudflare?

Let's compare DENIS@Home and Milkyway@Home.

On a Linux desktop, when I open up https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/get_project_config.php in a web browser, I see the XML output that the BOINC client needs to attach to the project. When I run "curl https://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/get_project_config.php" in a terminal, I also see the same XML output.

On that same desktop, when I open https://denis.usj.es/denisathome/get_project_config.php in a web browser, I see the expected XML output. However, when I run "curl https://denis.usj.es/denisathome/get_project_config.php" in a terminal, I get a Cloudflare challenge HTML response. That would cause the BOINC client to error out, because it's not the XML output that it's expecting.

If you're not impacted by this problem -- great.

However, for those of us that are impacted, we can clearly see what the problem is and how to resolve it. The apparent difficulty is not in trying to figure out what the problem is, but in the fact that the CloudFlare configuration that is causing these issues is controlled by the university's IT department, and they either don't know how to resolve the problem, or are prioritizing security and don't care about the impact on this project.

Just upgraded one of my Ubuntu boxes to the newly available 8.2.0 boinc-client and now it seems to work. I don't know if the fix is the new client or just reinstalling any client fixes the problem. It now seems to work though.

Mine were 8.0.4 and wouldn't attach but upgrading to 8.2.0 fixed the problem it seems.

I know it's Easter weekend and this probably won't be looked at by the project scientist/administrator(s) until next week sometime.

I was hoping after several weeks now, the university had resolved the CloudFlare intercepted communication problem. Apparently the BOINC community that contributes to the success of the project is not important to the university.

I still have 2 computers that have not been able to connect via BOINC GUI or command line to the project server since late January.

Take a spare drive and install Ubuntu 25.04 on it and Denis still won't attach unless you copy the address from the website but it gets and crunches tasks once it is attached.

Hi! Yesterday, the IT department modified the configuration again (I think is still not working...). Thank you for detecting the problem with the config file, I have solved, but I suposse it is no the cause of the other problems...

Today I installed Edubutu ver 25.05 on one of my pc's and it's running Dennis Fiber tasks as I type this!!

I did have to copy and paste the website address from the webpage into Boinc to make it work though as clicking on the one inside the Boinc Manager still doesn't work.
