still doesn't work here on my RPi5 with 7.20.5 client. can't connect to the project. Jesus, it seems like you guys need to be adjusting the cloudflare user agent settings for whatever cloudflare protection you are using. not any local network settings at the university. |

Using boinccmd still gives the exact same results: boinccmd --lookup_account https://denis.usj.es/denisathome/ <my email> <my password> status: Success poll status: operation in progress poll status: permanent HTTP error It may be Cloudflare, Jesus, and not your firewall. I know you will have to use those resources provided to you by the University and I realize that means using Cloudflare however I have to say their product seems rather anti-science in it's effective implementation. I hope you are able to find a solution. |

Hi! I continue to receive the same error that I (and others) in this thread have posted already, where we receive a Cloudflare "Are you a human?" challenge rather than the response that BOINC expects. While I can appreciate your IT department wanting to only open up the minimum needed, the fundamental problem is that your Web Application Firewall (Cloudflare, in this case) has a bot protection feature enabled on a service where communication with bots (read: not humans) is a fundamental requirement of the application. Attempting to whitelist user agents (or whatever your IT team might be doing) is a fool's errand, because user agents can vary between platforms and different versions/builds of the BOINC client, and someone with evil intent can take advantage of this by having their malicious bot simply use a whitelisted user agent. Meanwhile, your research (which is presumably being funded by a time-limited grant) is being impaired. My apologies if I come across as sounding annoyed, but this problem has a very straightforward technical solution. |

What happens if you spin a Linux VM on this box and try to add DENIS@home to BOINC in the VM? |

I don't know if this will help but I set up both my working box and my non-working box to look up my DENIS@home account key every 10 minutes. Your it team should see one successful attempt and one failure from my IP address every 10 minutes. |

The IT deparment added exceptions a day ago. Have you been able to connect? At least boincstats is still as the previous days... I'm still getting this error. |

I thought I would shuffle work loads around to try to get more CPU cores running DENNIS@home however 0 of the 3 other systems I tried is able to attach to the project. |

...and trying to add the project this occurs: This is a Ubuntu Linux box. Boinc 7.18.1 Just copy the .xml file from a pc where the project is already added and paste it into the correct folder in your pc that does not have it added and it will be added, you won't get any tasks due to the 'http permanent error' problem but at least it will be there if/when they do get it fixed. I keep a copy of all the projects .xml files on a usb stick just for that reason. |
