I am having a similar problem, but for only some of my machines. Some can get the beta tasks, while others cannot. All are using the same location for preferences, in fact, I have only the one. Edit: Never-mind. Those machines finally got tasks. Not sure what their problem was, but it's working now. Dublin, California Team: SETI.USA

Still no tasks here, just goes straight to "No tasks sent". Have selected for the beta as well. |

For what it's worth, all of my machines have been getting tasks all day long with no problem. One Linux, two Windows. There's been a steady supply of work. There's also been a lot of people saying they can't get tasks, and no obvious pattern to explain the difference. One thing of note: I have a bot at home that hits' "Update" on my BOINC machines every 7 minutes. Sometimes the BOINC or project backoffs are excessively long. That doesn't, however, explain why people aren't getting tasks after manually hitting the update button. Want to find one of the largest known primes? Try PrimeGrid. Or help cure disease at WCG.

I ran some tests on the windows environment for the problem mentioned. Tried the project reset ... KO Tried stop / start BOINC ... KO Tried detach / attach by Denis @ Home ... KO. From now I'll switch my pc on SIDOCK. See you later .... thanks K. |

Why are you hitting the servers every 7 minutes?? Obviously some projects not liking that is a sign that's a little excessive. ;) I'd think every 15 or 20 minutes should suffice if you really need to continuously hit them. Yav |

It's actually the other way around. If you request work, but get none, you get a few minutes back-off before requesting again. If you don't get work again, you might easily get an hour back-off, up to a day of back-off. |
