Posted 14 Apr 2025 by ![]() Post: That is not to say that an update of a BOINC client is bad ... across the years many improvements for both Windows and Linux as well as some MAC's have been implemented in newer versions. Especially on the Windows side. Volunteers running Windows older than 7.24.x should consider 8.0.2 Bill F |

Stat's Export
(Message 2799)
Posted 8 Apr 2025 by ![]() Post: Technically I believe that Stat's are not "Exported" My understanding is that the information is updated to an Standardized BOINC address location and that the users that need it (IE the Statistic Sites like BOINCStat's) go to the file location and copy the data. Someone with more precise knowledge may update what I am trying to say. Bill F |

Posted 24 Dec 2024 by ![]() Post: Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 8.10 seems to have been released in May of 2024 so it's not real old. But at glibc of 2.28 you are one level down. Yes ... I am sorry I should have said Asteroids@home. I would question the 2.28 vs 2.29 on the Linux and see if thy can address it. There may be other users like yourself as Linux is a major OS. Bill F |

Posted 24 Dec 2024 by ![]() Post: SiDock is a good bio/med project. I get stuff from them on a pretty regular basis on Win11.SiDock is out of work (for anything but ARM apparently) since the 14th.... :( Asteroids@home has lots of work and is a stable project. I have been running it since January of 2013. They support Windows, Linux, MAC and even a little Android. Merry Christmas Bill F |

Task run times
(Message 2424)
Posted 27 May 2024 by ![]() Post: Bill, I looked up your processor and the Intel shows it as 8 performance cores and 4 efficient cores for a total of 12. You could try to limit that specific computer to 8 concurrent tasks. Not all your cores are equal in processing power Johnathan This system as you can see is a Windows 11 box and BOINC does not at the Project level have a Core limit selection. I am untrained on Config files that might do the limit to 8 that your are suggesting... and is there a way to direct the work to the performance cores vs the others ? Thanks Bill |

Task run times
(Message 2417)
Posted 24 May 2024 by ![]() Post: The Server Status page shows an average run time for a task at 1.14 hours. The expected time per task that I down load is showing as 52.39 minutes. Two of my systems have times that are pretty close to expected run times considering their processing power. My system ID: 231553 has longer run times even though it may be my most powerful system. Does anyone have any suggestions on something I am missing ? My temps appear to be acceptable and fan's functional. Thanks Bill F |

Stat's Export
(Message 1599)
Posted 2 Apr 2022 by ![]() Post: The Admin for BOINCStat's wants to give former DENIS users a little more time to update their DENIS profile to allow export of Stat's. If he turns on reporting now anyone that has not "allowed" export of stats to "on" during the DENIS project restart would loose their prior history and points on his BOINCstat's site. This is another reason that it would be beneficial to post a "News" article about Stat's export. That way you have at least made the attempt. Bill F |

Stat's Export
(Message 1598)
Posted 2 Apr 2022 by ![]() Post: I would suggest that a "news" item be released publicizing the Requirement of User authorization for stat's to be exported via User project profile. Many returning users will not know to go looking for something that was not there before. Thanks Bill F |
