Where is this beta application ? We'd be happy to help testing it.

Do you know that BOINC allows deployment of "test applications" (aka beta applications) ?

I noticed you released a small batch of tasks for "Beta Testing Version of D.E.N.I.S Application"

Does this mean:

1. We'll see some more beta testing? (as all the tasks were gobbled up)
2. The production app will be called "D.E.N.I.S Application"?
3. The previous app is completely retired, never to be seen again?

Yes, we have launch a small group of WUs, which will be bigger if all of those WUs ends correctly. The beta version will be in continuous develop so we will generate new WUs to test in different users and computer configurations
2. The production app will be called "D.E.N.I.S Application"?
The name isn't definitive but for now yes. DENIS will be the common application with different models inside, this is why it's name isn't the one of the model (as the previous one) In the future, each version will have a post in the web page explaining what it have inside. The beta version([url]http://denis.usj.es/the-project/how-it-works/) of the app is the "Kalium"(http://denis.usj.es/denis-kalium/) version of the app.
3. The previous app is completely retired, never to be seen again?
This version is an improvement of the previous one. The optimized version of the app can be modified to work with this new version of the app because the main optimization was in the model and this part have been unmodified.

We are now generating few new WUs. Those WUs comes from the beta Testing of the application. To handle those Testing WUs you have to modify your account preferences to be able to crunch testing applications.

Going on these posts, I take it that I have to remove my app_info.xml file or does it just have to be modified so I can receive the current Beta work? If all it needs is to be modified then what are the correct file names and application name?

Remove the app_info and optimized exe, they're no longer compatible with the new WUs.

We are now generating few new WUs. Those WUs comes from the beta Testing of the application.

There is usually no way to delete your account on any BOINC project, but if you just want to detach BOINC from a project, you just use the "Remove" button in the "Projects" tab of BOINC Manager.

However, there is no need to even do that. Just add whatever project you want, and leave DENIS attached. You will get new work when it arrives.however I can imagine the project having problems testing/validating all these "third-party" apps.

That can be avoided by supplying an at least partially optimized "official" app.

Sorry on the delay of the answer. Most part of our staff is teaching inside the San Jorge's University, so those day have been the start of the new course and a lot of work have maintain us away from DENIS.

Also we are doing some work in the "shadows" that will be visible soon. We are generating a new version with double check-pointing and in the future more analysis about the checkpoint file ( error failures...).

Also Jesús Carro is developing a new model which will available soon to crunch on it. This new model would imply a lot of work. Also we are regarding the best way to obtain reasonable results with less CPU resources, this is why we are delayed the start of CRN subproject.

The double checkpoint version would be available on BETA in more or less 2 or 3 days even less. And if it goes well it system will be replied to stable versions of DENIS.
