Dear volunteers,
To thank you for the great effort you are doing and to recognize it, we have created new badges. You'll be awarded with this new badges at some milestones for your total credit.
They are inspired in the idea that our heart beats around 3 billion times during all our live.
The total credit you need to get the new badges is (users/teams):

  • Red heart (3.125M/31.5M):

  • Bronze heart (6.25M/62.5M):

  • Silver heart (12.5M/125M):

  • Gold heart (25M/250M):

  • Platinum heart (50M/500M):

  • Blue Heart Diamond (100M/1B):

We hope you like them.

Sincerely,
DENIS Staff

In general, badges are a great idea, but those numbers are a bit high for most of us. My suggestion would be to lower them a bit if you really want a large group to work for them. Maybe something like:

100k
500k
1 million
2.5 million
5 million
10 million
etc.

Just my opinion.

Or at least a "broken heart" badge for "badge lovers" that can only do 1M :)

I've just made a rough calculation: I've crunched 742 hours for Denis and got 14'100 credits (not only on my account, but also on a collective account). So it would take me (and probably every cruncher) about 37.5 years to get the bronze badge...

Will you still be here in 37.5 years?

+1
They can start with little numbers and after, if they introduce other type of work (aka gpu wus), use these badges

Hi!
Thank you for your comments. You are right, this numbers could be high for a lot of users.
I like de idea of introduce more badges based on other ideas. For example, achievements you can do with a healthy heart:

  • Marathon: 42.195k meters running
  • English Channel: 108.768k feets swimming
  • Maratona dles Dolomites: 138k meters by bike
  • Everest: 885k cm climbing

Any other idea?

Thank you

We have added two new badges (we'll add more small badges as soon as possible):

  • Marathon(42.195k/421.95k)

  • Everest (885k/8.85M)

Your prayers have been answered!
We have decided to modify the 1UP badges to classify the users (and we have added two more).
The new organization is as follows (the credits are the same for users and teams):

  • Real heart (3B credits): It represents the number of beats of a heart during one live.

  • Silicon heart (300M credits)

  • Diamond heart (30M credits)

  • Platinum heart (3M credits)

  • Gold heart (300K credits)

  • Silver heart (30K credits)

  • Bronze heart (3K credits)

  • Crystal heart (300 credits)

You'll have one heart and other halfway badges like the Everest and 42K.

We know that the biggest ones are two far, but we hope to give you too many credits ;).

Thank you for your comments.

Best,
Jesús.

Your colors seem to be a little weird.
I suggest the following changes:

Gold -> Diamond
Platinum -> Gold
Diamond -> Platinum

And I don't see any difference between Silver and Diamond.
So here's another suggestion:

Remove Silver
Gold -> Silver
Platinum -> Gold
Diamond -> Platinum
Create new Diamond, e.g. light grey + some parts of blue

Hi Roadranner,
What browser are you using?

Have any other user the same problem with the images?

Thank you

I'm using the same browser as before (Opera). But now the colors make sense.
Did you change something or was it just a browser error - it doesn't matter.
Nice work btw. :-)

Maybe it was caused by your web brower cache. With the last configuration we reorder the images.

I like badges, but i think it's a confusion in forum. There are people with 4 badges and forum seems to be a carnival. When somebody take a new badge, the old one have to go.
