What do you mean no science? His work is way different than anything else on here......So I don't know where you get the idea of no science. I don't know where you get the idea they are not validated. The tasks are. I have only 3 pending. Quit being impatient. This project works just like all the rest tasks come out, we process them and send them back. Their system processes them as it is programed to do. Tasks require 2 machines to process the results and then the task is put in queue for validation. Is that done by a human or a computer, I don't know. But I know he will not let the data go to waste. This project is watched over much better than Rosetta which is a orphan child project now after being the leader for so long. |

I don't know where you get the idea they are not validated. Until yesterday there are over 40k wus in validation pending. Quit being impatient. I'm not impatient. I only said that, for me, is more important the scientific part than the credits. That's all. This project is watched over much better than Rosetta which is a orphan child project now after being the leader for so long. That's for sure!! |

We have managed to clear the validation queue. Indeed, if we do not validate them, BOINC does not generate the results file... And that is our bottleneck when the hard drive fills up: without space, the server does not function properly, so it cannot validate, and there is no results file to extract from the server, which does not help to clear it... Are you getting to much data back to fast for your disk? Is there funding for an upgrade? |

Well, there is still no new work and there still is not an external statistics update... :( Doesn't seem like you have bothered to read all the forum post by the project administrator/scientist. The current science application is a work in progress and our job at time involves running the "test/beta" across various settings and different operating systems to identify potential issues. Sometimes different operating systems and/or computer hardware generate slightly different output. As for the stats export and some computers not being able to receive work that was addressed here. Everything takes time to fix since they are at the mercy of the university IT Department. Maybe this project is not for you since you think everything should be working at the 200+% level. ![]() ![]() |

Unlike some other projects, Jesus, the admin, has been very responsive to inquiries and issues throughout DENIS's inception. A bit of patience and understanding is certainly reasonable here... |

What do you mean no science? His work is way different than anything else on here......So I don't know where you get the idea of no science. Boinc has a built-in system to validate the tasks but it does require Admin intervention to keep it running, whether they are using it, I'm guessing they are, or not doesn't matter that tasks ARE being validated! That means Science IS being performed, now whether it meets the Science they are hoping only an Admin can say. But for me I'm crunching here just like all the other Boinc Projects because I have no ability to do ANY Science Projects like Boinc has!! |

Mikey...as you know there is a external project for protein folding you can run. But it is not with gridcoin. It is just its own world. But for non protein stuff, yeah BOINC is the only place I know of to crunch such stuff. |

It's now 12 May and nothing to work on. Did it finish while I wasn't looking? Or is something broken? |

It's now 12 May and nothing to work on. Did it finish while I wasn't looking? Or is something broken? I think neither of the options you suggest are the case. I am a relative newcomer to Denis, but it seems to me that it runs sporadically. My experience is the following. At the beginning of each week, a fairly large group of tasks are made available. They have an expiry date of about three days, so even if you can get more, there is no point. Then for the rest of the week, no new tasks become available. There are exceptions to this. I did get a week or so recently where tasks were available all week. But also, there are times much longer than a week where no tasks are available. This seems to be one of them. (I hope I am wrong.) ![]() |

Currently, we're in a beta test phase applying a new theory. This was shown in the 'Application' field for tasks tab in BOINC Manager. Since it's a beta test, just letting it run won't yield useful results; we need to carefully examine the validity of the results from processing the WUs. That's likely why they're processing an amount that can be discarded even if rework is needed, in order to validate the results. Consequently, the WU distribution is probably intermittent. Perhaps it makes sense if you think of it as running a PDCA cycle. Let's understand that satisfactory results cannot be obtained in nPDDD, as we have seen over the past few years. Furthermore, this time, the ver. 3 beta test didn't proceed smoothly due to changes in server components and the impact of a large-scale power outage. ![]() |

Please educate me. What is nPDDD ? I THINK it's the usual summer break Europeans take because it's too hot to work with no a/c that most businesses, or homes for that mater, have. Alot of hotels don't even have ice cubes!! So everyone takes the Summer off, in July they run the Tour de France bike race precisely because more French people can come out and watch the riders. If you've ever seen it they have people camping for days on the sides of the mountain stages just to see who cracks first. Even F1 takes a month off at the same time for the same reason!! Of course it could also mean 'postpone, Delay Delay, Delay' too. |

Hey do you know if Folding supports Raspberry Pi devices or just 'normal' pc's? Also do you get GC credits for EVERY app in Folding or just certain ones? mikey |

Mikey I dug around a bit. there was some chatter a few years ago about a "adapter" to get FAH on to gridcoin. It sounds like its there, but it's to much for me to understand. You can look at https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?t=38735 and see if you understand it. FAH tried to work on BOINC but to many problems, personnel, etc. so they stopped with BOINC and made it to work on its own. |

Believed it was mentioned in the Number Crunching section, but the last run was resulting in huge WU result backlogs too so folks were not able to upload results due to the server being all filled up with WUs waiting to be cleared. Also, this isn't like SETI or Einstein where this is one of the primary roles of the researchers. They still have their daily duties they had to tend to which takes priority at times over the project. It doesn't mean they aren't serious, but this isn't a project with a large budget. |
