Hi

I see "New human ventricular cell model" tasks available since yesterday but my mac host can't get any, and it could at the relaunch of the project.

Since the beta are linux only, I can't help with my mac :/

Hi Jerome,
I compile Linux and Windows in the same computer but I need to use a different computer to compile for MacOS. I do not always have it available and that is why there is no application in Beta all the time. This will change throughout the summer with the new infrastructure that we are setting up thanks to a new grant.

I just uploaded a version for apple in the Beta app (v0.13).

Best,
Jesús

Thanks !

I actually realize that even though it was not listed on the application page, my mac had already done a good number of beta app in the recent weeks... !?

Anyway my mac got plenty now, thanks again.

Hi, Jesus,

I've been running Denis for about 10 days on a Macbook Air M2. The tasks run well on Rosetta 2, and I have accumulated about 7,900 in credit, but that doesn't show on Boincstats.

https://www.boincstats.com/stats/-1/user/detail/96181147537/projectList

Do you have any idea why?

Best wishes,

Nick

You need to give permission for your stats to be exported to sites like BOINCstats or Free-DC. To do this, of into your project preferences on this site, and check the box for "Do you consent to exporting your data to BOINC statistics aggregation Web sites?".

Also, if you run the beta application (select this in project preferences too. You will also need to select "Run test applications?"), there is an OSX app that is native for the M1/M2 ARM chips. No rosetta required. And it's fast too.

🙄 Thanks! I had forgotten that important detail. Have turned on test applications to see how the ARM version runs.

I now receive both "New human ventricular cell model" and "Beta of DENIS-myocyte" on my mac :)

Also on a linux VM I get both, but in there the beta is much quicker than on the mac, and I realize it is the same for NHVM = almost twice the run time under macOS (2 hours) compare to the run time in the linux VM (1 hour) inside the same iMac...

We must review the compilation options, but it is also important that not all tasks take the same time.

Thanks for the info!

Best,
Jesús.
