I see my account has disappeared with the recent problems so I have re-registered, this isn't a problem for me but is an explanation for me seemingly being new.

I would really like to support this project again but I offset my electricity costs with Gridcoin as I Boinc. However DENIS is no longer whitelisted for Gridcoin rewards. I would happily put forward DENIS for being re-whitelisted but many members of the community have concerns relating to HTTPS and the availability of Work Units.

HTTPS:
Currently I see the project does not support HTTPS, this is a concern as all Boinc users communication including log-in details are not encrypted when communicating with the server. I have searched the forum and noted that this was going to be raised however there has been no update. In todays world basic security measures such as this and DDOS protection should be seriously considered. Do you have a plan to implement such measures?

Work Unit availability:
Looking at the updates I believe we are nearing the end of the current problems. Is there an approximate ETA on when work units will be consistently available?

Gridcoin background:

Gridcoin is a decentralized, open source math-based digital asset (cryptocurrency) which performs transactions peer-to-peer cryptographically without the need for a central issuing authority. Gridcoin securely rewards volunteer distributed computing performed upon the BOINC platform in a decentralized manner.

Currently Gridcoin is one of the largest BOINC teams although we are aiming to remove the team requirement.

The polls from July were announced not long ago and it was voted to add (whitelist) another project back in and they don't have HTTPS support either. The vote was nearly 60% for it, so the lack of HTTPS support was not a deciding factor.

Yes, I made the recommendations for the last set of polls ;-)

Whilst it is possible for a project to be whitelisted without it, it is much more likely to be voted in if it is HTTPS as several people have voiced there concern.
