Yep. The ONLY wingmen - bar one - that I've been getting today.

Now I am most definitely here for the science. Points really don't matter to me and my milestone is when the project tells us they now know everything there is to know about the heart and don't need us anymore :)

I do run a slow computer however, so keep a small cache in the hope that does not slow down the science for the project. But now the issue about points has been raised, I'm curious :)

Am I wrong, or are those racing just for the points, with their fast machines, being gifted many of their points from their slower wingpeople?

When these two fast hosts (host 1389 and 2617) validate against each other, their points are around 4. When they validate against a slower host, they get much more.

Here's another example of one slower host than those above - runtime 37 min 37 sec...
and one much slower host - me - runtime 1 hours 44 min 50 sec (so more than 2 and half times slower) but both of us awarded 22.09 points for the same work unit. Is that calculated on our averaged times, my time, or their time? As I said - just curious :) particularly as today, I am taking 1560 times longer to complete my wu's - given who I'm presently paired with - and am single-handedly slowing science to a snail's pace - indeed :)

edit: Also, for host 1389, if I click on their task list, this is what I get:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 79 bytes) in /home/boincadm/projects/denisathome/html/inc/db_conn.inc on line 119

Hi!

We are trying to allocate the bug. Meanwhile that version of the app is deprecated. I didn't know why those hosts are still using this version. Anyway we are going to stop new WUs for this hosts.

If the problem persists, we will be forced to stop the work generation.

Best regards, Joel.

I do hope you don't have to. :( A lot of us are here for the science, and really do appreciate: not just the interest you're taking in our experiences crunching for the project; but also all the hard work you are putting in to it for us.

So thank you :)

Hi!

We know it, I mean, the bug rejections makes a lot of WUs that have to be resend. The discussion about the credit is interesting and at some point every opinion have a truth inside, I don't know what if there is a perfect credit system, but with the help of the community i think we could find it.

Best regards, Joel

It looks like there is another very fast 2 core host Host 2617
Between 6 and 40 seconds per work unit.

All so far appear to be 2 core Intel CPU's (Pentium (R) and (D) and a Core 2 Duo), plus they are 32 Bit.
Unknown if that is anything to go by.
They don't get much when paired together, but they get through thousands of work units.

Yep, we are trying to minimize the number of operations that can do those hosts. At the moment, the faulty host that we have found have a limit of 100 operations per day.

The main problem is that they are getting v1.03 version.

Regards, Joel.

Yes, interesting, as they are not 64 Bit but 32 Bit so they should be failing the work units not processing them.

Hi!

Today we will launch new validator and new version of the app that we hope that will solve those bugs.

Thanks for your patience, Joel.
