Now we are out of work again, what's next in the project?
Will this project ever turn into a massive output of tasks like some of the other projects on BOINC or will this be an on and off type project as you complete each section?

Yes, in the future we should have a constant flow of tasks, but first we need to finish fine-tuning the algorithm and how we work with the models. These first ones are a test with a model that we hope to extend later, but for now we are launching part by part to analyze. We don't want to put it in automatic mode and then have to throw a lot away.

It make sense to do it in sections until you have it working the way you want it to.
By the way, do you have any screen shots of a graphical nature to show us what we are doing or what you are trying to do? I'm a visual guy, so all the text tells me stuff, but I would love to see what it is we do.

I don't understand all the "fit" stuff that you are talking about in your BOINC announcement.
I even took you Spanish version and ran it through Google Translate and got the same thing you had put in the announcement.

Can you explain in a different way what you mean by all your "fit" words?

First of all, this project isn't stable enough to add any more significant resources.
He is still working out problems with the data, if you watch the news section.

Anyway..did you contact Jesus?

He's the one in charge.

Have you uploaded any new tasks?
I am just checking back in after last nights viewing and the total tasks ready is still 0.

I was just checking back to see what was going on here.
I'll add this project back to my mix in the morning.
Its midnight CET and I shut down at this time.

Jesus,

As your tech team how to do a "broadcast message" via BOINC manager notices that reflects major announcements like starting up again or server problems, etc.

When you start up again, just send out a message that way (via notices) and it will reflect what you put on your news section on your front page.
Then all of will know when your back to work again.

Meanwhile good luck with everything.

Thank You Jesus,

So your saying essentially is one of the data points is not conforming to the science.
Maybe it would be faster to just drop that problem and send us the rest of the data.

Is this your only distributed computing project?
Do you have something else you can send out to keep the project going while you figure out what's going on with the current project?

I just suspended your project for now and will check back end of the month.
But a project with a month of no work, people may leave and may never come back.

Jesús,

What is the status of your project this week?
You had a good start and then suddenly stopped.

We do not fully understand what the 'problem' is that you have found in the work we have returned. Can you explain what the 'problem' is and if you are close to a solution?

I think for now I will put your project on 'hold' and check back at the end of the month. Or maybe you get do a broadcast notice that shows up in BOINC so we know your running again?

Hi Greg_BE,
We are still analyzing the problem. At least one week more.

Best,
Jesús

Thank you for the update!

It's the weekend, he is probably not monitoring.
Give him around 12 hours to get started on Monday and figure out what is going on.

not seeing any issues on my system.
tasks are done in 58 minutes to just a bit over an hour.
I only shut my system down at 0000 CET and turn it back on at 0830 while I am working.
So I do not keep a close eye on anything.
And it looks like I really don't need to, which is nice.

It's working and making progress, but the CPU is quite cold ... does it do actual computations ?

I checked with BoincTasks and its running 87-91% per core.

See how it goes.
