Hi everyone! In the last months we have been working on a new web page of the project and now is on-line. You can see at http://denis.usj.es. We have added more information about the project, the research we are doing and about the members of the team. We will gradually merge this page and the BOINC web page of the project. We hope that this new web page will increase your knowledge of the project. Any comment to improve it is welcome. Thank you! Best regards, DENIS@Home staff. Great work, i think you got it all. Getting 404 when i go to Science then click the link "research subprojects". http://denis.usj.es/category/science/research-subprojects/ is working but link is broken. Thanks |

I'm no English mayor, but... consider the following. On the homepage, it says: DENIS is a project created to help researchers in electrophysiological modeling. Electrophysiological models are a powerful tool to study the electrical activity of cells under normal or pathological conditions. These models also can help to predict the effect of drugs in the cells of the heart or the brain. I think it sounds better (English-wise): DENIS is a project created to help researchers in electrophysiological modeling. Electrophysiological models are a powerful tool to study the electrical activity of cells under normal and/b] pathological conditions. [b]These models can also help predict the effects of drugs in heart and brain cells. Like I said... I'm no English mayor, but I think this reads a bit better. If you have whatever information in Spanish, I'd be more than willing to translate it for you in English. I translate wikipedia articles back and forth between Spanish and English all the time... so, I sort of enjoy sharing translating :) |

Can you change the "Computing Status" to "Server Status"? |
Send message Joined: 18 Mar 15 Posts: 283 Credit: 2,748,608 RAC: 0 |
Hi Boboviz! Yes we can change it but now this page is only showing Computing Status. In the page "Project Status" of the original BOINC page there are two parts: Server Status and Computing Status. We plan to add both parts to this page, but now this page is not showing the status of the server. Are you used to look for "Server Status"? This is an small modification. Best! Please use your DENIS@Home account to sign in. Login Credentials not working from NEW PROJECT "HOME/MAIN" PAGE that REDIRECTS using the following URL: http://denis.usj.es/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http://denis.usj.es p.s. The REDIRECT from your WordPress page to the BOINC project LOGIN page WILL NOT WORK in the Opera Web Browser. By default, Opera Security settings PROHIBIT REDIRECTS from one web site to anther web site to prevent stealing of passwords/login credentials and "side-loading" of VIRUS/MALWARE/etc. The same may happen one day in the near future in other Chrome (GOOGLE CHROME, etc) based web browsers for the same reason. BEST WEB SECURITY PRACTICES IS NOT TO DO A REDIRECT... Just take web browser to the LOGIN (or other) web page. Since the WordPress LOGIN page (and many BLOGS, etc hosted on WordPress) are a FAVORITE and FREQUENT TARGET of MALWARE/RANSOM-WARE/VIRUS ATTACKS and NUMEROUS SECURITY VULNERABILITIES (example https://codex.wordpress.org/Brute_Force_Attacks), I am NOT pleased with the use of the REDIRECT URL used by DENIS at Home (nor any other web site using a redirect). |

Hi! Thanks for the advice, we didn't know that those solutions have that huge impact. We will try another solution soon. Best regards, Joel. |

Like I posted previously, THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN AND WORD PRESS IS INSECURE & EASILY HACKED/CRACKED, etc. See Message# 742 The Login link from the main DENIS page should POINT/LINK DIRECTLY (NOT REDIRECT OR USE WORD PRESS FOR USER AUTHENTICATION) TO THE STANDARD BOINC LOGIN PAGE which SHOULD be https://denis.usj.es/denisathome/login_form.php NOT http://denis.usj.es/wp-login.php. p.s. DUMP THE Word Press HOME page and use a MODIFIED DEFAULT BOINC (STANDARD HTML) page if you want to be considered as a serious scientific (BOINC) project. Word Press is FULL OF SECURITY HOLES ... |

The work units are gobbled up, when will the new ones be released You may just have to wait until things settle down. There were a whole bunch of hosts just waiting idle on Denis work and then they all started grabbing work in the same time period. This happens on all projects after there's been an outage or work has dried up. As long as they are consistently releasing new work, it'll even out. |

Dear Dr Who Fan, First of all, sorry for the delayed response. We have been trying to synchronize the wordpress web page of the project with the BOINC web page without using the worpress login, but we haven't been able to do it. I'm sorry if you don't like wordpress but I can't agree with your last sentence ("p.s. DUMP THE WordPress HOME page and use a MODIFIED DEFAULT BOINC (STANDARD HTML) page if you want to be considered as a serious scientific (BOINC) project. Word Press is FULL OF SECURITY HOLES ..."): we are using the system to connect BOICN and wordpress as is described in the BOINC web page:https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=6952 http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/WordPressInt I think that to be considered as a serious scientific (BOINC) project, we must show you as many information as we can to explain our project, give you feedback of our results, and use your computational capacity for valuable research. The wordpress web page helps us to spend less time mantaining the web and more doing research and communicating with you. For your peace, your information is not stored in wordpress. The website accesses to BOINC by using its PHP API. Best regards, Jesús. Jesús Carro Universidad San Jorge @InSilicoHeart |

Would be great if we could get SSL, wordpress have this. https://make.wordpress.org/support/user-manual/web-publishing/https-for-wordpress/ Or https://sv.wordpress.org/plugins/really-simple-ssl/ Would be great to add this to secure the accounts. Keep up the good work and have a great summer. |
