The problem is due to the following "link" on the page Jesús linked to: tg://resolve?domain=denisproject Telegram can be installed from here. I installed the desktop application but have uninstalled it because it seems to require a mobile phone number. I only have a fixed line telephone and the application tells me the number (which I've had for more than 30 years) is invalid. Dear all, When DENIS POSTS something to the DENIS NEWS FORUM, doesn't it automatically go to the BOINC MANAGER "NOTICES" and alerts users? I see the DENIS NEWS messages there. Seems like you tried to invent something that already exists ... or did I misunderstand what you were trying to do? |

We deploy this new channel to give to the users more information about the progress of the work (number of new simulations for example. We don't want to send you a lot of messages in the news because we think that it could be bad for some users. This approach of use telegram is a way to send more information to the user that really want that information. We are allways open to suggestions and advices so we will take in account your opinion and maybe change how we use this channel ( we are starting on it ) Best regards, Joel |

I do agreee, the use of BOINC notices would be far easier. and it works as long as the project is attached to the computer: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/Notifications |

The address wasn’t understood What are the system requirements to use "Telegram"? I use the latest Firefox (linux) so that should not be problem. Url "https://telegram.me/denisproject" immediately redirects to "tg://resolve?domain=denisproject" and "tg" is not registered uri scheme according to IANA[/quote]
