I have created an account on the website and I would like to add the project to Boinc. I already have Boinc downloaded from another project. Is there a URL I can use to add the project? I have tried https://denis.usj.es/get_project_config.php but it doesn't work. |

I think I found it. It looks like https://denis.usj.es/denisathome/ works. |

Yes, it is. The project should appear in the boinc client list. Best, Jesús. Jesús Carro Universidad San Jorge @InSilicoHeart |

Well, I have several hosts where DENIS@HOME does NOT show up in the list of available BOINC projects when trying to add a new project to the BOINC client... Any hints? (BOINC client version, though I am using DENIS@HOME for example on an older MacBook, with an older version of macOS) thx, Ralf |

I don't know. As far I know, the client takes the projects from https://boinc.berkeley.edu/projects.php. The client updates it with a low frequency, but this mechanism is present since years Jesús Carro Universidad San Jorge @InSilicoHeart |

It seems that clients older than 7.20 do not show DENIS as a project to add. Was able to upgrade a couple of hosts to 7.22 and DENIS showed up after that. Can't do that with more hosts, especially some servers, as the upgrading of the BOINC client requires a reboot of the host, which isn't always possible. But then after running out of WUs over the weekend, the "refill" had dried up by mid-afternoon over here (Los Angeles) and some of the newly added hosts haven't gotten any work just yet. thanks, Ralf |

The only time I have had to reboot a PC when upgrading BOINC, is when I have been changing the way BOINC runs from user execution to running as a service or vice versa. I do sometimes need access to the PC to run boincmgr and or windows task manager to restart the BOINC service. |

I am running most hosts in service mode, as a lot of them, for example servers, are running headless and don't get a user logged in. It was just weird that on slightly older versions, DENIS didn't show up as an option. I will update hosts as available, it's not a big rush as there isn't that great of a supply of WUs anyway, two of the machines where I have added DENIS have yet to get any WUs as there weren't any WUs available anymore and not sure what the usual cycle with this is, as I just very recently added DENIS after World Community Grid just keeps fouling up and is unresponsive for a week or even more... :( Ralf |
