is based on the BOINC system. This platform can coordinate a huge amount of computers to accomplish a big task. The system divide the problem in small workunits that consists of an application with their corresponding configuration files. The application with this file will generate a result file that is send to the central server of DENIS.
is divided in 3 types of subprojects:
Testing Workflow: To test the application, new features or optimization in the kernel of the DENIS application we are going to generate a dummy work generator with the beta version of the app.
This application will be the beta version of DENIS app, and before pass the test of stability it could be promoted to stable version. The information of those simulations will be used to study network performance and capability of the system to solve electrophysiological simulation, this is why beta-testers will be really useful for us.
Model Shuffled Workflow: To create a continuous workunit generation and save time for future investigations, we generate shuffled simulations of one model and store the markers. This could help future scientist to be faster in their investigations or at least to have approximate values of their simulations.
Project Specific Workflow: DENIS is open to other scientifics to run their simulations. Different subprojects will be contained in DENIS to handle the execution of this simulation. Each subproject will be published in the web page showing its goal, description and phases.
Some groups of scientist need to test their models or to make simulations with it. They could add their private models to the DENIS base application in their subproject.
Some models could not be open and free until they are published or at least they are tested, this is why we permit to use private models in this workflow. If one model is used in DENIS it has to be open, free to the community, and will be added to the new stable application of DENIS when the work is published.
