With the end of 2025 almost here and no communication from the project Admin or Scientist in almost 6 months now, I am wondering when or if there will be work available?

Is this just beta stuff outside Boinc? I'm not seeing Boinc tasks from Denis.

There hasn't been *any* work from DENIS in many months on BOINC and still nothing as I post right now..

Any updates?

I know it's Easter weekend and this probably won't be looked at by the project scientist/administrator(s) until next week sometime.

I was hoping after several weeks now, the university had resolved the CloudFlare intercepted communication problem. Apparently the BOINC community that contributes to the success of the project is not important to the university.

I still have 2 computers that have not been able to connect via BOINC GUI or command line to the project server since late January.

Issue with cloudfare config and/or firewall.
Hi!
They are adding the exceptions in Cloudflare, but, yes, we need them to improve it.

Thank you.

Thank you for showing your computer. Makes it easier for us volunteers to help you.

I forgot to ask if you had had enabled Run test applications? on your project preferences page?
Run only the selected applications	(all applications)
If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?	yes

Your computer(s) are hidden so it makes it very difficult to provide a proper answer. If you are worried about what others might see, don't worry it's not anything extremely revealing. Click on my Username to the left and you can see what information is displayed above my computers.

No tasks sent can mean several things:

* Your computer has enough work from this or other projects when it contacted the server.

* There was no work available for you type of operating system/CPU/type of computer.

* There is a problem with your computer connecting to the server. ###

### Currently some computers are unable to connect to the sever due to a University/CloudFlare firewall issue. See the most recent postings in the topic permanent HTTP error for more details.

Only my Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PC's are able to communicate with the project. Both are on BOINC ver 8.0.4.

My Windows Vista on BOINC 7.16.20
And the
Linux Ubuntu
Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS [5.4.0-204-generic|libc 2.27] on BOINC 8.0.4 have not been able to communicate with the project server since Jan 30, 2025.

Ok, I'm new to Denis@home and don't know your history, but why does the server show work and not send any to my computer?
Shouldn't it then say that the work is 0?

As I pointed out, the project is having some problems and if you take the time to browse the forums here you will understand they are trying to fix the problems. I'm not going to keep reposting stuff here you can find out for yourself.

Reading is knowledge.

Well, there is still no new work and there still is not an external statistics update... :(
Still a space problem?

Ralf

Doesn't seem like you have bothered to read all the forum post by the project administrator/scientist.

The current science application is a work in progress and our job at time involves running the "test/beta" across various settings and different operating systems to identify potential issues. Sometimes different operating systems and/or computer hardware generate slightly different output.

As for the stats export and some computers not being able to receive work that was addressed here. Everything takes time to fix since they are at the mercy of the university IT Department.

Maybe this project is not for you since you think everything should be working at the 200+% level.

I see there is STILL A PROBLEM WITH MATCHING RESULTS on Linux to Windows and vice versa.

Most recent:
https://denis.usj.es/denisathome/workunit.php?wuid=26830656

Any update from the project manager on if this will ever be fixed?

It's a shame that completed work is not being cross-platform validated correctly and not receiving credit for work done.

Noticed that as of this post I have 54 "Invalid" tasks across my various PC's spread over many days of computation.

My question is, what makes them "invalid"?

I am not having any invalid tasks at any other projects.

Post:
Oft-prescribed beta blockers may not be wise for many heart patients
Beta blockers have long been widely prescribed for patients with heart issues, but two new studies this week question the benefit of the therapies in certain patients with strong heart function.

One study, published Tuesday in Heart, looked at people who experienced a heart attack but didn’t develop heart failure or dysfunction in their heart’s pumping. Researchers found that long-term beta blocker use wasn’t associated with improved cardiovascular outcomes in this group.

The other study, published Wednesday in JACC: Heart Failure, focused on people with heart failure who had mildly reduced and normal ejection fraction, which is a measure of a heart’s squeezing function. The authors found that beta blockers were linked to a greater risk of hospitalization in patients with higher squeezing power.

These wu's are not behaving correctly . Had to force terminate them after Boinc had exited, still running in the background!
AV's will react if they look like malware or viruses activities.

Had to do SAME thing on All my Windows PC's (Vista, Win 7 Win 8.1 - all 64 bit). The tasks were using memory & disk space but not CPU after aborting tasks in BOINC.

The Vista PC did not have any MS AV's software to "interfere".
The Win 7 & Win 8.1 PC's do have MS AV but I have BOINC data folders specifically DISABLED from AV scan and according to ProcessExplorer MS AV did not have the files "open" for scan, etc.

Have set all PC's to NO NEW WORK ON THE DENIS PROJECT UNTIL THINGS GET FIXED (probably next week some time since it's early Saturday AM in Spain).
