14) Message boards : News : Problems in the server (Message 1255) Posted 23 Jun 2017 by DRSMT Post: Well, buying things (on a flea market or wherever) and donating (=giving for free without return) is something very different and so my logic is vice versa than yours: the main reason why I started to support DENIS, is in fact simply because it was / is a rather small, unknown and maybe therefore under supported project. If I see a project like e.g. SETI@home which is massively over supported, I have no interest in joining it, because my impression is that they already have enough. And yes: if you are here just for the credit, you are not a real cruncher to me and yes you fail the point in simply DONATING computanional power (which is the only subject to me with BOINC at all). But let us end that discussion here, because it leads to nowhere. Hopefully the servers are up soon, so we can push further :)

Real crunchers are here to support science and in the case of DENIS@home - at least in my opinion - we support the most important section of science: medical research. That the project has maybe lost some data and was down for a few days, well such things just happen. As soon as the servers are on again, we will push this project further than it ever was before :-)
