Since then there was a small sliver of work and that is it. There was also a change in who manages the project and that person doesn't appear to have time. So you need to ask yourself if your computing resources should go to a project where the person in charge doesn't have time and before doing maintenance they didn't take a backup first. With that said, all projects have issues. There hasn't been a single project that I've contributed too that hasn't had issues. The length of this one wins the prize though.

January of 2017 that had a massive failure and since then, pretty much nothing. Also, early on they didn't exactly know how they were going to make the research data that was crunched available. So that is two big red flags there. What good is the research if the data it isn't available? If this project meant a lot to the researcher(s) then they would find the time. There are plenty of other BOINC projects that are active and have minimal downtime.

The vote was nearly 60% for it, so the lack of HTTPS support was not a deciding factor.
